Ajay Zachariah, BS, RVT, RDCS, RDMS.
President and Chief Operating Officer
    Ajay received his Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound in 1992 from Seattle University.  He worked and trained for 5 years (Nov 1993 to May 1998) at the University of Washington Medical Center dedicated vascular ultrasound laboratory under the direction of D. Eugene Strandness, MD.  In June, 1998, Ajay joined Spencer Vascular as Clinical Director of Spencer Vascular and worked under the direction of Merrill P. Spencer, MD.  In April 2004, Ajay left to work for a medical imaging company (TeraRecon) to be the ultrasound product manager.  In October 2006, Ajay rejoined Spencer Vascular to help run Spencer Vascular after Merrill P. Spencer, MD passed away in July 2006.

Tonia Maddock, BS, RVT, RDMS.
Clinical Director, North End
    Tonia received her ultrasound training at Seattle University from 1980 to 1983.  She received her AS degree in ultrasound from Bellevue Community College in 1988.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon.  She was a vascular sonographer at Eastside Vascular from 1996 to 1998.  She has been a vascular sonographer at Spencer Vascular since August, 1998.  She is also a clinical instructor for Seattle University students training at Spencer Vascular.

Sara Morgan, BS, RVT, RDMS.
Clinical Director, Central Seattle
    Sara received her ultrasound AS degree in ultrasound from Bellevue Community College.  She worked as a vascular sonographer from 1994-1996 at Tacoma General Hospital and also as a vascular sonographer from 1994-1999 at the VA Medical Center in Seattle.  She has been a vascular sonographer at Spencer Vascular since November, 1999.  She is also a clinical instructor for Seattle University students training at Spencer Vascular.

Jim Brown, AA, RVT.
Clinical Manager
    Jim received his ultrasound AA degree in ultrasound from Bellevue Community College in 2001.  He did his vascular ultrasound internships at Spencer Vascular and University of Washington Vascular labs.  He worked as a vascular sonographer at Spencer Vascular from 2001 to 2004.  He worked as a vascular sonographer at the UW Vascular lab from 2004 to 2006.  He rejoined Spencer Vascular in November of 2006.  He was a physics instructor for the ultrasound program at BCC for one quarter in 2002.  He has instructed multiple students over the past five years on various aspects of vascular ultrasound and patient care.

Meryl Harley, BS, AA, RVT. 
Neurovascular Services Manager
    Meryl graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences and a minor in Biology. She received her AA degree in ultrasound from Bellevue Community College in September 2002.  She did her vascular ultrasound internships at Spencer Vascular and University of Washington Vascular labs.  She has been a vascular sonographer at Spencer Vascular since September 2002.  Meryl works closely with all TCD related research projects and participates in all TCD related CME activities and conferences.

Josh Renz, BS, RVT.
Registered Vascular Technologist
    Josh graduated from the UW with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a minor in Medical History and Ethics.  He took ultrasound classes at Seattle University.  He did his clinical internship at Spencer Vascular.  He has been working at Spencer Vascular since 2001.  Josh works closely with all TCD related research projects and participates in all TCD related CME activities and conferences.  He works to continually improve TCD tests related to PFO testing and has been accepted to present a poster on an idea he came up with (secondary shunt testing) at the Stroke conference in February, 2007.

Krislynn Barnhart, BS, RVT.

    Krislynn earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound from Seattle University in June 2006.  She completed a six month clinical internship rotation in vascular ultrasound from June 2005-December 2005 with Spencer Vascular at Swedish Medical Center, First Hill and Providence campus locations.  She continued her clinical internship rotation at the University of Washington in the UW Vascular Laboratory Services Department with focus on inpatient services and examinations, from January 2006 to March 2006.  For her last quarter of internship from late March 2006-June 2006, she returned to Spencer Vascular at Swedish Medical Center to receive specialized training in transcranial Doppler and cerebrovascular  examinations.  She has been employed at Spencer Vascular since June 2006.

Britta Fiest, BS, RVT.
Registered Vascular Technologist
    Britta earned a Bachelor's in Science in Diagnostic Ultrasound from Seattle University in Sept 2006.  Her vascular rotation was at Spencer Vascular from March 2006 to September 2006.  She started working at Spencer Vascular on October 2, 2006.  She also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
